Estate Administration

The process through which a deceased individual’s assets are distributed to the beneficiaries named in the decedent’s last will and testament. Or, if the deceased did not have a will, then assets are distributed pursuant to the Maryland statutes concerning intestate succession. Estate Administration is also the process through which creditors may collect debts and federal & state governments attempt to tax the decedent’s estate.
